Tours
“Inspired” is the word we most often hear from visitors who tour Sage Mountain Center. Whether you want tangible ideas for building your own place, updates on off-grid living, or just need a break from the pressure of conventional society, we offer you a fun and educational solution.
Sage Mountain Center facilities tours include off-grid solar electricity, lithium ion battery storage, solar hot water, wind generation, organic gardens, a large labyrinth, dry (composting) toilets, off-grid EV car charging, all-season greenhouse, and straw bale/cordwood building technologies. All are laid out in an environment designed to nurture the spirit.
Sage Wall and Trail hikes are by reservations ONLY. The moderate 2-mile trail system features spectacular views, safe and well-marked paths, 300’ elevation gain, the Boulder Batholith and mysterious Sage Wall. See our Trail Map. | THE SAGE WALL AND TRAILS ARE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, BUT CHECK BACK WITH US FOR RESERVATIONS IN APRIL 2025, FOR VISITATIONS STARTING IN MAY (WEATHER PERMITTING)!
We do offer scheduled SMC facility tours year-round to individuals or large groups, tailored to specific interests. No drop-ins please. Email us FIRST at smc@sagemountain.org for appointment dates and times, then we will transfer you to our online registration/payment portal. Please leave pets at home.
